Open Theatre Practice
Season IX Freedom
We have hit the streets and have invited people in Dublin 8 and beyond to join us in our practice of performance making in a Café on Cork Street and in zoom meetings online, collectively reading the Greek tragedy Antigone, a play about freedom of the individual versus the state.
In our workshops online and in person, we invite people who are interested in performance making to collectively research and explore the theme Freedom for their own appreciation and benefit. For the next stage of our development, we look forward to inviting five community participants to co-create a chorus performance.
Are you interested in being one of five invited
participants who will co-create a chorus performance
for Freedom? Do you have something urgent to
express on the subject of freedom? Would you like to
experiment with voice and co-creation?
Please send us your spoken or written response to:
"this state is (not) free for me" in less than 100 words
in a voice message (WhatsApp 0871220817) or in
writing in an email to info@outlandishtheatre.com. We
welcome and accept your submission in any language.
With an invited artist on our panel, our core team (Maud, Bernie, Fióna) will select five participants to work with us.
The schedule for participation in the making and performing of this new co-created piece will be:
July 14-18 Week: co-creating and experimenting
August 5-8: Part-time rehearsals
